Where did August go???

Oh my goodness, it was been a crazy busy couple months for us!!! Where did the summer go??

The month of August was a busy month for all of us.
Jesse had an enduro race, Addyson as always had a couple Dr. visits, the twins had developmental testing in Minneapolis through the NICU to test their skills making sure they aren't falling behind due to their SUPER prematurity, they also had their tonsils removed, Early childhood open house, and of course many bomb fires and late nights playing outside getting dirty!! :)

I am DREADING winter, but so looking forward to fall. I love cooler nights, hot chocolate, bomb fires, hay wagon rides, the leaves changing color, and everything else fall has to offer!!

September has already been busy. The twins started school on the 1st. They LOVE it...I think they like riding the BUS more than actually GOING to school :) We celebrated the Labor weekend by milking cows and going to the Ridgeland tractor pull! I celebrated my birthday on the 6th by going to Texas Roadhouse, my favorite place to eat, with family! It was a lot of fun. Of course Jesse MADE me ride the saddle, but the twins BOTH jumped on with me so it was cute moment I will always remember instead of an embarrassing one :) We have the Colfax famous fireman's ball this weekend. Jesse is driving his tractor while pulling a hay wagon with us in the back so the kids can throw candy! We did this last year and they LOVED it!! ...mommy LOVES it to because they are THROWING the candy instead of accumulating it :) Then after there is always an auction, kids pedal pull, and they have good food. However, we always eat at Marita and dads, cuz he too always grills food and has the family over...and dads grilling is always better than anywhere else :)

I also babysit a little 4 month old boy during the day! He is the cutest little thing :) Austin comes in the door from school and the first thing he says is "wheres Karter??" Ellyssa likes to be little mommy and help me with him by feeding him , holding him on the couch, and playing with toys with him!!! I think like me, she too is getting her " baby fix" through this little man, since Addyson doesn't do what "normal" babies do...

Addyson has started back with therapy for sure once a week, but are going to try to get her in to twice a week now that summer is over. Between us and the therapists busy summer we kind of took therapy week by week seeing how busy our schedules looked. Meaning I was doing a lot of work with her on my own time making sure she didn't forget or get lazy on me!! :) She also has a nurse coming out still, once a week unless she is having a good week, I tell the nurse we don't need her to come take the trip to Colfax :) Those are GOOD phones calls that we have about Addyson...and mommy likes the GOOD ones :)

I hope all of you had an amazing summer filled with lots of memories ...I know we sure did!!

Happy 4th!!

Like every year, we had another FUN 4th of July weekend! The only VERY disappointing thing about it was that I forgot my camera!!!! So..... no pictures :(

We started our great weekend on Friday. Jesse usually has Fridays off, but worked a half day, despite the horrible hot and humid weather. For anyone that kind of weather is icky, but for him, being a welder, its especially HOT! While he was working, I was at home packing everything and everyone, for our camping trip to my grandmas.

Most would think that's not a camping trip but for us it is! My grandparents used to do a LOT of camping. Every weekend in the summer, but with my grandpa being a truck driver, driving all week and then more on the weekend was getting to be to much for him. So now the camper has a spot in the yard that it stays in all year round. Other family members have also brought their campers. Now there is a circle of 4 campers. Their own little campground!

So, when we camped there this last weekend, we brought our tent and put it up right next to all the rest of the campers! I love tent camping! Jesse and I have an air mattress and so do the twins. We set up Addy's pack-n-play for her and all slept like babies! :)

My grandparents also have a huge pool, fully surrounded by a deck, which is SUPER nice! That is where you could find the twins and I from the time we woke up from the time we went to bed. Getting out to eat and go to the bathroom! It was wonderful...and relaxing :)

Jesse went fishing with his brother, Dan on Sat for the day, bringing back about 60 pan fish. He also, despite the sunscreen he put on, got HORRIBLY sun burned! :( He is feeling a little better now, but has been left with nasty blisters throughout his whole body. Needless to say he was dreading work this morning.

We came back home Sunday night. We had planned on finding a sitter for little Addy and taking the twins to see the fireworks at Elk Point, but by the time we got home and were ready to leave, the twins were so exhausted from the long weekend they stayed home also. That left Jesse and I some time to spend with each other! :) The firework show was amazing, just like past years!

Monday, I did some cleaning and laid around the house til we went to my other grandparents that evening. My sister spent a week in Mexico for a missions trip, so we had a coming home party for her. She showed a slide show of pictures that she took and talked about some fun things that they did. Later, we had a bomb fire and fireworks. By the time we got home last night we were so full of the fun times the last four days, we all went right to bed...even Addy!

Even though, we had a fun filled weekend, we did not neglect to think of all the men and women out there that are or have fought for this country to make our fun weekend possible. I think of, and thank the many family members and friends that we have that have or are serving in the many different branches of the military.
THANK YOU! :)

What a week...

We have had a FULL week!

Tuesday, Austin and Ellyssa had a blast having a play date with some kids they hadn't met before. A friend of Jesse's family (and mine), Rachel  came over with her kids and they played and played and played for a good chunk of the day. She is also a busy mom, with four kids, the youngest only 2 months! He is SO adorable!! (although I think all babies are :)!!

Ellyssa with sweet little Landon
Wednesday, we went to the Eau Claire Children's Museum with another friend of mine, Kara, and her boys Drew and Owen. It is the best place for any mom to take her child(ren)! They can touch EVERYTHING! Its amazing. There is the floor level that has the grocery store room, another room they build and plumb a house, there is a stomach thing they can climb in [go in one end and come out the other :)], and theater room where they can put on a show for us to watch, plus many other things to do. Then down stairs there is a water "thing" with lots to do. There are also different class rooms that have painting, crafts, reading, color matching, and block building in! I'm telling you, if you haven't taken your kids there I HIGHLY recommend it...even I enjoyed it! :)
Anyone need some contractors to build their house??

How about some good grocery shoppers??

This is one of those water "things" that i was talking about

Owen feeling the texture of the marbles!

Friday, Jesse had to work a part day so the kids and I hung out at home, playing outside. Austin loves any game that involves a ball, and Ellyssa like to play pretend with her baby doll. Later that night, Jesse and I were able to go to the races in Menomonie. Jesse's boss, at Anderson Bridges (Ashley Anderson) drives the big cars, so we like to go and cheer him on!

Saturday, we enjoyed fishing with the "other" Coates family! We drove up to Dan and Echoes house and Dan showed a nice little fishing area up there...lots of FUN!

She wasnt to sure if she liked or not!!

Jesse caught a good size bass...just not big enough to keep...

All the kids soon got sick of fishing and decided that playing in the mud and
water was a MUCH more fun thing to do :)

Sunday, (today) Jesse and breck had the grand idea to go golfing. I, have never been a fan of golfing, but it was something that they have been wanting to do for a while, so I took the opportunity to bring the kids to, and make some good memories! My sister also came, so us girls were in one golf cart and the boys were in the other... They golfed, we just drove around and laughed at them, hehe :)

We put Addy in the basket on the back of the golf cart...perfect seat for her!! :)

Summer days

Summers around the Coates household seem to get a little hectic. Last summer we seemed to spend most of our time in and out of hospitals and Dr's offices. So this summer we are making up for it! The summer started with the twins last day of Early Childhood having a movie day. They were able to wear their Pajamas (which was A-OK with this mama) and got to bring a favorite stuffed animal or blanket. They came home that day with just stories to tell...even though we are still having a hard time understanding everything they are saying some of the time.
Summer quickly became busy after that. Jesse plays on a softball league through our church at Fuzzies Bar and Grill in Menomonie. He really enjoys this time with men that have a heart for God and a willingness to go out and be a witness to those that don't know Christ.
After hearing that he plays softball, a team here in Colfax asked if he would be their teams "fill in" man. Of course he agreed, and turns out this team always needs a "fill in" man, so now he is a regular player for the team on Thursday nights.
Jesse also milks for a local farmer on Tuesday and Wednesday nights, and then when he needs a night off. I, who have always been a "farm girl want to be" have really enjoyed going with at times to help out!! Having that one-on-one time with my best friend has been priceless. Its amazing what a little time together (even in the strangest places) can do on a relationship.
Our family enjoyed watching Jesse do the enduro race at the Menomonie race track this month. For those of you that don't know what that is, its basically a bunch of derby cars that race around the track for 2 hours fighting for the last 20 cars standing position! Its a lot of fun!
The "worlds fair" was in Colfax this past weekend ;) The kids really enjoyed riding on all the (kid) rides on Thursday night. I'm not sure who was having more fun, mom or them. It was just melting my heart watching the smiles on their faces and seeing how much fun they were having, so much fun, that I forgot to take pictures!!! Oh man, I was bummed when I realized it later. Oh well. Grandma and Grandpa Popple kept Addyson at their house, so Jesse and I were able to have some really nice quality time with just Austin and Ellyssa. When we went to go see the animals they weren't to sure about the pigs and the goats, but they LOVED the baby calves and the petting zoo.
On Friday night, is when mommy and daddy's fun began. My mom and her husband (G&G Sand) took the kids Friday afternoon til Sunday afternoon :) I love my kids with all my heart, but I admit that break meant more to me than even I thought it was going to. Jesse and I were able to go out Friday night, sleep in on Saturday, come and go as we pleased, and just have some quality time with each other, and ourselves. I was able to have some "me" time that I have been needing. The best was spending time with Jesse. Talking with out getting interrupted, and even though we did talk about the kids, it was in a adult kind of way! Haha....
During those 3 days, I fell in love with my husband all over again. :)
I can't believe June is almost over! Didn't school just get out?? Life sure does pass by in a blink of an eye when your having fun. The month of July will bring a whole new whirl-wind of adventures for our house. Addyson has 3 Dr appts, and a feeding tube surgery. Plus we found out that both the twins have to have their tonsils out, not to mention all the fun things that we want to do. :)
Jesse dug out the jet-ski that we store in his grandpas shed. Seeing it sit in our garage really makes me want some hot days so we can get out on the water and use it!!!
Well, I think this post is long enough. Hope everyone has a wonderful day.
